Scott Long, LPCC-S | Specialized Care for Men

All men struggle with something. In fact, there’s no one on earth who hasn’t faced some difficulty along the way. While Counselor Scott Long works with couples, individuals, and families; he has a particular passion for helping men improve their lives.

“Everyone has issues that they need help in dealing with at one point in their lives,” Scott says. “All of us face times when life just seems too big and we need someone with whom to talk through an issue…to offer some perspective.”

Scott works with men who want to address a variety of issues:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Anger

  • Substance abuse

  • Sexual addiction

  • Pornography Addiction

Men often struggle to talk about their problems. Scott finds ways to create a relaxed environment where all of his clients feel confident to speak openly about their problems. Scott takes a unique approach with clients that sometimes involves throwing around a football with a teenage boy or walking and talking with a man struggling in his marriage.

The things students battle today often look different from those problems their parents faced. These include things like:

  • Cyber-bullying

  • Pressures associated with social media usage

  • “Sexting” and online pornography


Scott’s training and experience working with clients provide families with the tools they need to raise their children with wisdom and integrity.

  • Master’s in Professional Counseling, Liberty University

  • Gottman Level 1 Therapist, specializing in marriage counseling

  • Specialized training in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), working with students and adults
