John Putney - LCSW

John Putney, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about helping individuals find clarity, healing, and direction in their lives. John specializes in working with adults and adolscents navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, anger, life transitions, and addiction.

With a warm, client-centered approach, John works with men and boys ages 13 and older, as well as women ages 18 and older. He integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and person-centered therapy, while also offering faith-based counseling for clients who wish to incorporate their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.

John brings diverse clinical experience from work in private practice, addiction treatment settings, and a community health center. This background has equipped him to support clients from a variety of backgrounds with compassion, respect, and practical tools for change.

John earned a Master of Social Work from Western Kentucky University in 2023 and a Bachelor of Social Work from Murray State University in 2022. He is committed to ongoing growth and strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to make meaningful and lasting changes.

Outside of the therapy room, John enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as hunting, fishing, hiking, and serving at his church. He is also a dedicated sports fan who enjoys following the St. Louis Cardinals and University of Illinois football and basketball teams.
